What You’ll Learn

Many vocal coaches build their business entirely around weekly one-on-one lessons, which can eventually lead to burnout, inconsistent income, limited scalability, and fewer opportunities for students to engage beyond the lesson room.

In this elective, Chelsea Cowan explores how modern voice studios can expand beyond private lessons by creating a complete studio ecosystem that supports student growth, strengthens community, improves retention, and creates sustainable opportunities for long-term business development.

Together, we’ll discuss topics such as:

  • Building a strong studio foundation through systems, automation, and online visibility
  • Creating exceptional student experiences that encourage long-term engagement and retention
  • Developing community through performances, events, workshops, and collaborative opportunities
  • Expanding beyond private lessons through scalable educational offerings and additional revenue streams
  • Establishing healthy business boundaries, sustainable workflows, and long-term growth strategies

This elective is designed for new and experienced voice teachers, studio owners, and vocal coaches who want to build a more sustainable, impactful, and modern teaching business while continuing to serve their singers at a high level.ir students.

About Chelsea

Chelsea Cowan is an international vocal coach, educator, singer, and performance specialist. For over a decade, she has trained singers around the world through SingingWithChelsea Vocal Studio and Lift Your Voice. She also serves as Lead Vocal Coach at Wolf Studios NYC.

Known for her precision, clarity, and functional approach to contemporary singing, she works with developing and professional artists across pop, rock, R&B, country, musical theatre, and crossover styles.

Chelsea is an Advanced Instructor certified through the Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA). She specializes in bridging technical mastery with artistic freedom. Her work centers on sustainable vocal strength, advanced mix and belt coordination, range development, agility, and stylistic refinement — equipping singers to meet the vocal demands of today’s commercial and theatrical industries with confidence and longevity.

She is also the creator of the Lift Your Voice Vocal Athlete Series, a comprehensive training system designed to help singers build consistency, strength, coordination, and confidence between lessons through guided vocal workouts, educational resources, and self-directed practice tools.

Her training blends modern contemporary coordination with time-tested vocal principles, translating complex vocal science into practical, performance-ready results. Her coaching emphasizes strength, coordination, control, and consistency — guiding singers to understand not only what to do with their voice, but why it works.

Respected for her ability to diagnose vocal patterns quickly and design strategic, individualized training plans, Chelsea supports artists at every stage of development: helping professionals refine stamina, consistency, and performance confidence while guiding developing singers toward strong foundations and long-term vocal trust.

Chelsea’s philosophy centers on the belief that technical mastery exists to remove barriers, not create them — allowing artists to perform with clarity, authenticity, and longevity.
