Roger Emerson will point out the most challenging elements of teaching school choir, along with areas that are often easily overlooked. Examples of choral pieces that help “solve” the challenges facing the school choir director will be demonstrated, offering practical solutions to common teaching concerns.

This three-week course equips voice teachers with practical tools for coaching jazz singers. Participants will explore jazz history, repertoire, storytelling, and improvisation through discussion, listening, and hands-on exercises. By the end, teachers will have a toolbox of approaches to inspire creativity and confidence in their students.

This workshop introduces different types of vocal distortions and teaches how to perform them safely and sustainably. Participants will also explore applications of these techniques beyond singing.

This year’s Pop Stylization course explores how to integrate pop stylization into functional voice training while supporting artistic development. Learn how to use teacher-student rapport to guide singers in refining their unique sound. This interactive session includes opportunities to observe and co-coach a singer in real time.
