Monica Matabuena

Soy músico de jazz y profesora de canto afincada en Madrid. Soy Profesora certificada del Institute for Vocal Advancement (Level III) y  tengo el Título Superior Oficial de Jazz en la Escuela de Música Creativa - Conservatorio de Madrid.

He asistido  a numerosas masterclasses con importantes figuras del jazz internacional, tales como Barry Harris, Chris Cheek, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Aubrey Johnson (entre otros) , además de formarme en improvisación vocal con el Maestro Bob Stoloff durante dos años. También he cursado dos años del Master de Pedagogía Waldorf en el que me formé en los aspectos evolutivos del niño y la integración de los conocimientos dentro de su desarrollo vital. 

Dirijo mi propio estudio en el centro de Madrid donde enseño música y técnica vocal. Soy co-fundadora deLa Triple M, desde donde organizamos cursos monográficos intensivos de Jazz desde el año 2013, llegando a  la 11ª edición.

Artísticamente estoy involucrada en diferentes proyectos y acabo de estrenar mi primer album, "MATABUENAPURA", un conjunto de composiciones y arreglos propios con un estilo de jazz contemporáneo.

I am a jazz musician and a voice teacher who lives in Madrid, Spain. I am a Certified Teacher of the Institute for Vocal Advancement (Level III) and have a BA in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance from the Madrid Conservatory - Escuela de Musica Creativa.

I have attended several masterclasses with international jazz figures such as Barry Harris, Chris Cheek, Deborah Carter, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Aubrey Johnson, as well as maestro Bob Stoloff, with whom I studied improvisation over two years. I’ve also completed two years of the Master’s degree in Waldorf Pedagogy, where I learned about child development and the integration of knowledge throughout its evolution as a human being.

I have my own studio in the center of Madrid; it is dedicated to the whole development of the singer where I also provide additional training in music and acting. I’ve also co-founded La Triple M, from where we organize Jazz workshops since 2013, reaching the 11th edition.

Artistically I am involved in different  projects and I've just released my first album, "MATABUENAPURA" , a set of original compositions and arrangements in a contemporary jazz style.
