Emily Kristen Morris
Topic: The Best of Belting
Musical theatre vocalist and educator Emily Morris demystifies belting—explaining what it is, how to do it safely, and how to bring authenticity and strength to your belt voice.
Learning how to develop a powerful and thrilling belt, all within a foundation of sound vocal technique that you can consistently rely on for 8 shows a week, is no small feat! That’s where Emily comes in. In this 60-minute class, Emily will lead the group in a belt-focused vocal warm-up, give a short presentation about belting (we’ll get into the common misconceptions about what belting is… and what it sure isn’t!), and give one-on-one song coaching to individual singers for the group to observe. You don’t want to miss this!

Duncan Rock
Topic: Nutrition and Exercise for Mental Health
Opera baritone and certified nutritionist Duncan Rock explores how singers can support their mental health through everyday choices in food, movement, and mindfulness—essential knowledge for staying balanced in a demanding career.
The performing arts world is rewarding, but it’s also demanding — from relentless pressure and irregular schedules to time spent away from loved ones, it’s no wonder that mental health is such a crucial issue in our industry. While there’s growing awareness of therapy and pharmacological treatments, the powerful role that nutrition and exercise can play in supporting mental wellbeing remains under-discussed and often misunderstood.
This session explores how what we eat and how we move can directly impact mood, stress, anxiety, and overall resilience — both positively and negatively. You’ll walk away with practical, science-backed strategies to help you optimize your mental health using two of the most accessible tools you already have: your diet and your body.

Toni Linke
Topic: Rough Vocal Effects
Vocal coach Toni Linke walks you through the art of safely creating rough textures like growls, distortion, and other expressive effects—perfect for singers in rock, pop, and other modern genres.
Grit, rasp, screams, growls… no matter what you call them, rough vocal effects are part of almost every style – yes, that includes pop music! Toni will present an overview of the most important effects, explain their anatomical and acoustical features, and give tips on how to achieve them reliably, efficiently, and sustainably.

Megan Yates
Topic: Run With It! Mastering Riffs & Runs
From smooth slides to lightning-fast licks, IVA Educator Megan Yates breaks down how to master riffs and runs. Learn how to build coordination, style, and confidence in your melismatic skills.
Riffs don’t have to be scary—they can be FUN! In this class, we’ll take the mystery out of riffs and runs and give you the tools to make them a natural (and joyful!) part of your singing.
