JOHN LEE

John

is a vocal coach in Singapore focusing on musical theatre, jazz and pop singing.

Having trained with vocal coaches from Los Angeles, New York and London,

and currently as a Mentor instructor of the Institute of Vocal

Advancement (IVA), he runs his own vocal training classes, which are

fun, informative and effective, infusing the

wonderful vocal pedagogical methods of IVA with his experience in

performance and song interpretation. He is also vocal tutor in the

Theatre Program in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

He

has performed in plays, <National Broadway Company (2012)>,

musicals <Fried Rice Paradise (1992), Hotpants (1997)>, Mediacorp

TV series <Sayang Sayang (2008,2009)> and collaborated with

local artists like Babes Conde, Jessica Su and Jacintha in a number of their

musical projects. He has also arranged and performed background vocals

for recording artistes such as Sandy Lam, Emil Chou, Tracy Huang, Dick

Lee and Sandii Suzuki, and sung on several TV commercial jingles,

including the award winning ‘Life Story’ for OAC Insurance. He is also

Music Director and arranger for premier acappella group, Vocaluptuous,

which has appeared in numerous events (SEA Games 2015 Opening Ceremony,

National Day Parade 2009 & 2013) and collaborations (with Dream Academy’s Crazy

Christmas series), as well as concerts of their own.

John was

personal vocal coach for Ivan Heng in La Cage (2017); vocal coach &

vocal producer (for CD recording) in Beauty World (2015); vocal coach

& judge on TV talent contest “Sing-A-Nation” (2013); Fried Rice

Paradise (2010); Man of Letters (2008) for W!LD RICE’s Aladdin

(2004); music director for The Music of Christmas with Dick Lee &

Friends, & the 80-piece Singapore National Youth Orchestra (2003).
