The World’s Most Renowned Vocal Teacher Certification

Be Part of the World’s Most Powerful Certification Program for Voice Teachers

IVA Certification Program

IVA is a worldwide leader in the training of singing teachers with over 120 years of experience and thousands of hours of voice lessons and teacher training delivered over the last 30 years.

Our program will help you understand how the voice works and how you can continually improve your teaching to quickly diagnose and fix problems in any voice, helping your students succeed.

This program lets us show you how to teach singers to achieve any sound they want without breaking the function of their voice or restricting them. What we do works for every level of singer, from beginners to professionals in the music and showbiz industry.

Our Philosophy

We believe that vocal balance is the key to ensuring success in a singer’s voice. Vocal balance allows singers to control their voices while singing any style of music. It will enable them to sound free and natural.

A singer should be able to access all dynamic levels in their voice without straining, cracking, or breaking. We want to show you how to train singers to use their voices in the healthiest and most efficient way so that singers can realize their full potential, expressing themselves as they choose through song.

IVA Certification Program Information

At IVA, we offer the opportunity to study Vocal Pedagogy. Vocal Pedagogy is more than learning to sing; it is the study of the teaching of singing.

Who is IVA Accreditation for?

An important aspect of IVA is that we believe no one individual in IVA knows it all; we are all learning and growing individually and together as a community of teachers. We all want to be in the company of teachers who have constant motivation to be educated, challenged, tested, and evaluated. This accredited program is for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Beginning voice instructors looking for high-quality teacher training and education
  • Experienced voice instructors seeking professional education to refine their skills and teaching
  • Voice teachers who are committed to their ongoing vocal and pedagogical development

What are the entry requirements?

There are some basic entry requirements you must meet to be accepted into the program. If you do not meet the criteria, please contact IVA so we can help you. To apply for admission to the program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • have basic vocal musicianship skills (at the very least, the ability to sing a song in tune and in time)
  • Have a basic understanding of English

What do I get from being accredited?

IVA has developed teacher training programs that make rigorous educational demands on its teachers. Teachers must complete the educational requirements and pass proficiency testing to graduate from our three-year program.

  • You hold a certificate that represents the highest-quality vocal education and pedagogy.
  • You get access to additional online training and support from our organization that strives to serve you and meet your specific needs as a teacher of singing.
  • You become a part of a private network of highly trained and talented vocal instructors, which provides a platform for your continued growth and education.
  • You can market and promote your teaching with the IVA name and logo.

Personal Vocal Development

We at IVA believe it’s essential to develop your vocal skills continually. IVA instructors need to be able to demonstrate the vocal techniques they teach in their voices.

Annual Conference

Every year we host IVACON, our international teachers conference, which includes many opportunities for learning and networking with your fellow IVA teachers.

Worldwide Community Access

Rather than going it alone and hopefully picking up enough information to keep us afloat as vocal teachers, we provide you with education and access to a community of experts in their own specialities in vocal pedagogy.

Seamless Online Education

IVA provides access to Online Teacher Training materials and a back library of event recordings. You will have access to a wide range of materials and resources to get started as soon as you join the program.

Teaching Evaluation

To ensure our teachers deliver the highest standard of singing lessons, we regularly test your skills as part of the requirements.

Mentoring & IVA Support

Our Education and Support Team is here for you through every step of your journey. Throughout your training, if there's anything you need assistance with, our fantastic team can help you!

IVA is a worldwide leader in the training of teachers of singing
