Assistant Area Representative
Robyn holds the position of vocal instructor at the Parker Arts Academy in Janesville, WI. There she is responsible for the vocal development of the Academy students both as soloists and choir participants. Her primary focus is vocal health as well as helping students understand how to successfully navigate between chest, mix, and head voice – ultimately having that “one voice” sound.
She also has experience working with elementary through high school choirs; most recently as a guest clinician for the Fine Arts Festival at Rockford Lutheran School in Rockford, IL as well as assisting in directing the backstage singers for the Parker Arts Academy’s production of Mamma Mia. She brings with her a passion for music, the ability to interpret various styles of music, and, simply put, enjoys working with students of all ages to help introduce them to and gain a better understanding of the music they are performing.
Robyn is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and a minor in Piano Performance. She continues to challenge herself in the field of vocal pedagogy by pursuing advanced certification levels through the Institute for Vocal Advancement, LLC. In addition to teaching, Robyn is a Master Level Adjudicator for the WSMA (Wisconsin School Music Association) Solo & Ensemble events for both Voice and Piano, a National and Regional Adjudicator for the NFMC (National Federation of Music Clubs), and the Local Chair and State Co-Chair for the Wisconsin Federation of Music Club Festivals. She is also a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and a lifetime member of the Delta Omicron Music Fraternity.
Robyn is the owner of Brennan’s Music Studio located in Janesville, WI. Here she provides vocal training, master class opportunities (in conjunction with her acting partner), and piano lessons to musicians in south-central Wisconsin and, thanks to virtual platforms, around the country.
When Robyn isn’t teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, and training the two newest additions to the family – Rachy and Denver Brennan - Australian Shepherds.
