Sarah Bishop

🇺🇸 United States

Sarah Bishop is  a professional singer, actor, dancer, musician and teaching artist! She teaches students in New York City, Pittsburgh and online. She loves connecting with singers to find their strongest, healthiest voice and works with a wide variety of singers, from seasoned Broadway and music industry professionals, to those who are just starting to find their sound!

Sarah specializes in Musical Theater repertoire, as her alma mater is the prestigious University Cincinnati College- Conservatory of Music, but also loves connecting with singers from all genres including upcoming songwriters, pop, rock and folk singers! Having been a dancer herself, Sarah also loves connecting with Broadway dancers who are looking to discover the strength and confidence in their voice.

Sarah discovered as she was growing her studio that she connected deeply with beginner singers who felt they struggled with pitch. After working with student after student, and successfully helping them to recognize and feel what it is like to sing in the middle of the pitch, Sarah developed an online course to help singers do this on her own. She is the founder and creator of Pitch Please, and ear training course for singers. The course can be found on her website (linked below).

The voice is a vulnerable thing, and Sarah makes sure to establish a nurturing and safe learning environment for her students. Its her mission to not only help student’s grow their voice, but encourage them to truly feel seen, heard and free to express who they are. Her goal is for her students to have complete autonomy and understanding of their instruments, so they can confidently approach any style.

When Sarah isn’t teaching, she is a professional musical theater artist and can be seen in various projects including Roundabout Theater Company’s Tony Award winning production of Cabaret and the upcoming Broadway show, Broadway Vacation. Sarah loves translating her ongoing experience as a professional performer into her teaching work.

Whether Sarah’s helping a student with a Broadway final callback, assisting them in an application for a prestigious theater program, preparing for their first solo album or accompanying them towards finding their voice and matching pitch for the very first time, Sarah is the perfect teacher to help any singer reach their goals!
